- Account Information — When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by those services.
- Saved Locations — Fishing spots and locations you choose to save within the App.
- Preferences — Your language selection, theme preference (dark/light mode), and notification settings.
Information Collected Automatically
- Location Data — With your permission, we collect your device's location to provide location-based forecasts and map functionality. You can disable location services at any time through your device settings.
- Device Information — Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version.
- Usage Data — Features used, pages viewed, interaction patterns, and crash reports to help us improve the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's functionality, including personalized forecasts based on your location
- Authenticate your identity and manage your account
- Store and sync your saved fishing locations across devices
- Improve, personalize, and optimize the App experience
- Send you service-related notifications (you can opt out at any time)
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
3. Third-Party Services
Fish Cast integrates with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Sign-In — Authentication service by Google LLC. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple Sign-In — Authentication service by Apple Inc. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase — Backend infrastructure and database. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
- Open-Meteo API — Weather and marine data provider. Open-Meteo is an open-source weather API that does not require API keys and does not collect personal data.
- Google Maps — Mapping service. See Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:
- TLS/SSL encryption for all data transmission
- Row-level security policies on our database
- Regular security audits and updates
- Minimal data retention principles
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide you with the App's services and as required by applicable laws. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data

7. Account Deletion
You can delete your Fish Cast account at any time by navigating to Profile > Settings > Delete Account within the App. Upon account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days:
- Profile information — name, email address, and profile picture obtained via Google or Apple Sign-In
- Saved locations — all fishing spots you have saved
- Preferences & settings — language, theme, and notification preferences
- Usage data — any analytics data associated with your account
This action is irreversible. Once your account is deleted, your data cannot be recovered. If you cannot access the App, you may request account deletion by emailing us at support@fishcast.app from the email address associated with your account.
8. Children's Privacy
Fish Cast is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last updated" date above. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
